problems with audio track in MSP8

Post by BlueKnight »

Using MSP8 since jan. 2006 recently I've noticed that when I add a video clip(+audio) into the timeline or remove (a part) from it, the changes I've made in the audio track before become undone. The settings returns to the point as they were before adjusting them.
I've contact the Ulead online help and they told me to do the usual things
1)Clean up temp files from\Start menu\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\Disk Cleanup.
2)Uninstall MSP 8 from control panel Add/Remove programs
3)Please del the folder "Ulead MediaStudio Pro 8" folder in C:\program files\ulead system
4)Install MSP 8 again
5)Run the MSP 8 SP 1 patch that you can download from our website;
http://www.ulead.com/tech/msp/msp_ftp.htm
6)Make sure you have the latest WinXP compliant driver for your VGA card, sound controller and capture device which you can download from the internet
I've done these things, without any result.
Is there someone who had the same problems and has found a solution for this annoying problem.?
thank you.

Sounds like the automated reply service has given you standard cure #1 :!:

Have you turned on/off Ripple Editing?
There are 3 states
1. None
2. Single Track
3. Multi-track

The different settings will affect how clips interact with each other in different ways. Although written for the less powerful VideoStudio this article may help explain
Ripple Editing

It depends what mods you make. Audio filters should withstand a cut, but changes made by AMP do get "lost". I think this may be because they generate an immuable "timeline" and this cannot be cut (my speculation). Workaround: adjust audio after you have finalised the video!
