multitrim in DVD MovieFactory 5 trial - can I delete a frame

Post by robillardd »

I downloaded DVD MovieFactory 5 trial
Then I imported a DVD onto the hard drive
I opened the file using MF5 and clicked multitrim mode.
Then I ran the video.

What I want to do is edit (delete a frame or frames) while watching the video.
When I'm done deleting the frames that I want gone I want to then save and burn to DVD.

Is this possible? I have tried numerous times but don't see any success yet.

Many thanks to anyone who can help here!!

I'll give that a try.

After I multi-trim the video and click OK to go back to the timeline.

Then click on Export and select "Fast Export"

How do I save the modified file??

I've tried several times but still get original video without the edits??

Thank you for your help!!

You need to remove the trimmed parts, before Fast Exporting. After removing the trimmed (parts you don't want), then going to Fast Export, you should be presented with a dialogue asking for a Save as.... Name the file and viola, you should now have a video file minus what you trimmed....

<snip>
Ron,
I think he may need to know that he has to load that new saved file into the timeline & remove the edited one that was multi-trimmed...
<snip>

I think this is what I don't know. That's probably where it's failing.

How do I load the new saved file into the timeline & remove the edited one that was multi-trimmed?? Can you provide a step by step at this critical juncture?

<snip>
Also, depending on how your original video file was created you may/may not be able to exactly trim to a specific frame. The program may have to pick the closest frame that can be used to split the file.
<snip>

At this point I would be ecstatic to be able to cut out what I want out and save as a new file.

Thanks to both of you!!

Again, many thanks for all your help!!

I took a day off yesterday and finally had the time to get through it.
I was making it harder than I needed to.
The interface isn't configured as I would have made it.
However once you know how it works, it works just fine!

I was able to import a DVD (.mpg file) then made 36 edits (removed parts I didn't want) and then continued through the wizard to burn a new edited DVD!! Looks great!!

Thanks!!
