1. Allow cutting
2. Allow transitions between clips
It seems that the only concern is the HD/Blu-Ray, and dual cores. What about those that probably will not see HD/Blu-Ray burners for at least 5 years, or dual core processors for several years...
As long as my system doesn't roll over and die, I'll be using it for the next 5 or so years. I still have my PIII 850Mhz Gateway, running Win98se. I just purchased my box (HP AMD 64 3200+) last year.
Yes it's great that they made it more compatible with the dualies, and such, but I really don't see much benefit to this SP for those that don't have all that...(just my personal opinion)...
But I guess they feel it would be getting too close to big bro..MSP
EDITED
Yes I have mentioned and complained to Ulead, before VS10 was released, since I was granted the priviledge of beta testing it...

I agree wholeheartedly with Ron.
I would have rather seen more fixes and enhancements to the video editor and burning modules.
This service pack doesn't do much for me and I'm still deciding whether to download it or not.

The patch fixes things that VS10 is supposed to do - as advertised. Enhancements will be added to the next version so we run out and pay the $50 upgrade!I would have rather seen more fixes and enhancements to the video editor and burning modules.

Another major bummer is the write back to HDV camcorders. You have to have your camera turned on and ready before you render the video. Once the video is rendered you only have one chance to record to the camera. If the export fails or you don't write the file to the camera, there is no way to pick the file and export it to the camera.
The file that is written is a .m2t file but has a extension of .mpg.
The file doesn't appear in the libary once it is rendered.
Trying to open the file in the libary manager will give you an error File is not editable would you like to convert? What the conversion does is strips the m2t information from the video and makes unusable to record to the camera.
The file can be used in MSP8 to record to the camera.
Not much thought went into the write back to HDV.

I agree, thats if you can get the write back function to work. I cant get it to render the file OK but around 1 min 40 secs into recording it to tape it starts to stutter and then give up. This is to a Sony HC3.tyamada wrote:Another major bummer is the write back to HDV camcorders. You have to have your camera turned on and ready before you render the video. I have successfully rendered the same 30 min clip in Vegas and
recorded it back to tape on the same machine with no problems so it
seems to be a VS10 issue.
Lets hope SP2 sorts this out...

Problem with installing Service Pack 1
The service pack 1 does not work with the TBYB versions of Video Studio. I purchased the full version after using the trial version (using the "buy" button). When I downloaded the service pack, I also got that message. Tried the clean install, etc....no good.
However, then I emailed and called Tech Support, included my purchase information to verify legitimate copy, and they were very helpful in providing a FTP site to redownload the program files.
The service pack installed perfectly and the program seems to actually be more stable (I do have a dual core). I have nothing but positive things to say about the Ulead tech support for their quick response (within 48 hours of my email and answering the phone call directly)

When will this dual processor support be extended to AMD models? Given that until the recent release of Core Duo by Intel AMD was the speed leader for the past 2 years and therefore more likely to have a bigger user base of dual processor machines, why delay on making this update to VS? I purposely bought my AMD X2 box to do video editing, so I'd like to see AMD given at least the same consideration as Intel.jchunter wrote:# Optimization for Intel?Core?2 Duo CPU
