Need my External Hard Drive??
I recently got a Toshiba Qosmio Laptop with two hard drives (C and D drives). I always use one of several external HD's for capturing and editing files. On Friday I have to shoot and edit and show a short 3 min. video, with a very short time limit to do the editing so the video is ready to show. My question is, do I need to drag along one of my external HD's or can I just capture and edit on the D drive of the Qosmio without running into problems? I plan to edit and burn a quick DVD to show the video. By the way, I love the Qosmio- the core duo is really great and the 17" WXGA Trubrite display and Harman Kardon speakers are awesome.
The performance with an internal drive will probably be better than with an external drive, on condition you have defragged all the partitions on both drives. I see nor problems, but why not do a live check beforehand.
