Fry's Electronics is advertising DVD Movie Factory 3, the Disc Creater version, for $50.00, less $50.00 in rebates, for a total cost of $0.00 plus of course the tax on the original price.
For users of VS8, is there any real advantage in having this program?

Nice Deal...
Hi,
For FREE (AR), that sounds like a great deal. And the Full version of DVD MF 3.0 Disc Creator would be better than the "lite" version that's included with VS8.

Did you apply for and receive rebates?
I would like to know if someone has received rebates in timely manner. So far I am not having a positive experience with Ulead rebates. The first rebates I sent have already been over 4.5 months.
I don't have any experience with Ulead rebates, But, I'm always cautious about considering the rebate in my purchasing decision. It always takes forever, and sometimes you never get it. Maybe you get rejected because you don't follow the instructiions exactly, or you don't qualify. Also, the rebates are usually handled by a 3rd party rebate company, so help and "support" are limited.
FYI - I have Movie Factory, but I'm not using it anymore. I used Movie Factory for about a month, then I "upgraded" to Video Studio and DVD Workshop. A few months later I bought another "special" video editor for MPEG editing.
