Hi,
I have a strange problem: when I add MPG clips to the timeline, I can play them on the preview ONLY if I select "project mode". If I select "clip mode" I see only a black preview screen.
I suspect there's some issue with the ovrelay mode of my ATI Mobility Radeon 9600.
I tried oll the combinations of the following actions:
- installed different versions of the video drivers (including of course the last version)
- tried visualstudio file->preferences->instant playback target
- clean installed VS10 as well as VS9: same behaviour
I could let it work only doing the following:
- attaching the laptop to the television an selecting the clone option in the ATI video driver
- adding one filter to the mpeg filter: after this it works until I switch to the "project preview" and then back to the "clip mode" proview
I stress the fact that this happens only with mpeg2 clips (avi are ok)
Any help please?
Thanks,
/Stefano

I'm running the ATI Mobility Radion 9600/9700 without any problems displaying MPEG clips using Ulead VideoStudio 10+.
For me, the preview worked with the old driver and I recently downloaded the newest driver and that works as well.
Is it possible that the time has come for a clean reinstallation of Windows?
