HD-DVD Writer???
HD-DVD Writer???
Has anyone spotted news about upcoming HD-DVD writers? I check often and haven't read anything promising. It seems like MF5+ would satisfy my requirement to produce high definition slideshows but unless I can output them to a disk that capability is useless.

Re: HD-DVD Writer???
The first burners are expensive and slow.
That's how bleeding edge technology works.
I'd wait until the manufacturers have had time to work the bugs out of the initial models and the prices will be lower.
In addition, we don't really know which high definition DVD format -- "HD DVD" or "Blu-ray Disc" -- will win.
I'm betting that "HD DVD" will continue to have the edge, but I could be wrong and any investment that one makes now could turn out to be like the investments made by people who bought Sony Betamax.
Here's a link to a USB 2.0 "Blu-ray Disc" external drive:
