No Audio on playback of saved Movie onto DVD (MovieFactory4)

Post by kingy51 »

I have just used MovieFactory 4 to read straight from my DV Tape direct from my camcorder. I had instructed MovieFactory 4 to burn it straight to DVD. When it had finished, I played it back and although there was sound during the recording process, there is no sound on playback.
Ulead help offered no answer.

I have a internal Panasonic DVD drive ( DVD -RW ) in my Acer Laptop.
I have used DVD-RW discs. I tried to select DVD-VR from the menu, as I am told that this is to be used when recording onto a DVD-RW device. But I think it only gave me the choice of DVD-Video.

Can someone suggest a solution to this?

Gratefull for any response.
:)
Actually, all I really want to do is simple; Get all my home movies ( about 7 small DV tapes ) off the tapes and onto DVD or CD's in case I ever should lose the tapes. I don't necessarily want a swish movie as such.

Please check if you correctly set the bits in bold:

Source: *** Format: *** Input source: *** TV system: *** Audio device: *** Input source: *** Disc type: ***

Thanks for the reply.

Is this a Menu Option, and if so, where is it found?

Do you have MovieFactory4?

Thanks

You say from your camcorder, what make/model of camcorder, and how are you transfering/capturing the video clips?

I have a JVC and its about 8 years old ( model G100? I think ).
I transfer the info from the mini DV tapes in the camcorder to my laptop via a Firewire->Firewire cable.

Once I have fired up the Ulead MovieFactory, I then connect the Firewire, and it picks it up it starts playing the tape.

Since you are capturing via firewire, then the audio should be there.

In DMF4, you might check some settings...
  • In the Capture Step, click on Advance Settings, Capture Options

    Image
  • Make sure the box Capture Audio is checked

    Image
  • Check your Video and Audio Capture Settings

    Image
  • Click on the Advanced to open up the MPEG Settings box.

  • Check your audio settings here, to see that it is of a DVD compatible format for your region (NTSC, PAL), which would be LPCM, MPEG, or Dolby
