PhotoImpact 12 ?

Post by deadarise »

hey all, i have a question is that is it true that there is a new version PI 12 ? well i just got an email newsletter and it was from The Ulead Team but the email is wrong because it supposed to be " To: mattrudd@triad.rr.com " not " To: news_usa@ebs2_ulead.com " :?

the subject is = " Ulead Systems Newsletter September 2006: Special Edition New Version PhotoImpact 12 Advanced Sale "

so i went to ulead site and I don't see it! but only PhotoImpact 11, not 12 :x

i wonder if the email is fake or not so do you have any idea?

I read another post somewhere, stating that it is available from The Ulead UK site.

No, there is nothing on the Ulead UK site about such a version.

I am in the US and I just received the email from Ulead. I just placed my order!!! Looks like they are not releasing the boxed version for another 3 days, but I can wait.

I suspect that something is amiss here...

I'm also in the US, and have yet to receive any such newsletter from Ulead. Further there is nothing posted in the News section of Ulead's site as to a new release of PI. They always will post such events, as it is very newsworthy as to their continued progress and development. Investors certainly need to hear things like this.

Edited... Read other post, Guess I'm wrong, Ulead is surprising us ...

I chose to buy the download version and I'm please to say this version is working very well. It appears that the bugs we experienced for a year with PI 11 have been resolved.

It appears that the "new" PI 12 is actually a very expensive but welcome patch for PI 11

PI 12 also has some UI improvements like the new photo management UI style.

BTW, I just use PI 12 to edit a bidding banner for Taipei in the Wikimania 2007 City Bidding Contest. If you are interested you can check it in http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimania_2007/Taipei :)

Yes, I also got notice of the new version of PI 12 and I'm actually upset. I've worked with PI8 for years and I loved it. Two weeks ago I purchased PI 11 and it stinks with all the bugs and now they come out with PI 12?

So do I have to purchase it again? Why do they release a product with so many bugs? I didn't pay for a Beta product.

Still steaming

It's interesting that you mention the word 'Beta'
The other mainline Ulead software
VideoStudio
MediaStudio
DVD Workshop

Have beta testing groups. I wonder why they have left out PhotoImpact and MovieFactory.

I have tested programs in Beta stage before and that's usually when you work out all of the bugs before the program is put out for sale to the general public. While using PI 11, it was like a Beta program to me because of all the bugs and glitches. And now they release PI 12. I am just totally upset with Ulead and the whole program.

Hope this helps.
