I assume that you mean the product will begin to ship in the US on Sept. 30. The email I received states

"Download your copy PhotoImpact 12 now BEFORE it hits the streets. Or pre-order and reserve PhotoImpact 12 box version, available for shipping on September 19th, 2006. "

But maybe that is just outside the US.

BTW, the prices quoted for PI12 in UK website seem to be discount prices?!? And download version is supposed to be avaliable right now, before announcement?

Anyone tested that offer in practice?

I've tried to purchase the upgrade download and when I click on the 'buy now' button I get taken to a page to input validation of a seriel number. On putting in a valid seriel number the next page simply taked me back to the home page of Ulead. Therefore, it does not appear to working correctly at the moment!

The E-Mail version I got worked. I clicked on the Upgrade button and it took me to Elements5 owned by Digital River and commenced to take my order for the prerelease. I checked all of the sources and html code and found nothing out of the ordinary. It did not ask me for a serial number.

How to order the download upgrade...

Post by Thorarinn »

Upon entering a valid serial number I was also sent back to the home page. Have a look at the links for the full version, they take you to element5. Copy the one for the full download and paste into the address on a new tab/window but add one to the item number...

Cheers...

PS I haven't yet decide if I want the new version. To be honest, the "what's new" list at first glance doesn't look very impressive. Anyone out there tried the new version?

Someone pinch me and wake me up please.

Well, I was unable to refuse delivery of the PI11 as it came USPS and the mailman just left it in my box. At first I couldn't figure what the heck it was. It had Element5 on the return address, but the package was tiny compared to what I was suppose to get, the boxed version to go along side all my other previous PhotoImpact boxes.
(Ref: http://www.ulead.com/store/pi/runme.htm)

What they sent me was a thin manual with 2 cd's in paper jackets stuffed in the middle of the book packed in a thin bubble envelope. I can't believe they aren't snapped in half.

No E-mail reply from ULead yet, so I will try to call shortly. (Update: I can’t call because despite my best effort I cannot locate a phone number anywhere, including the manual that came with the software.)

Releasing the new version doesn't really mean they are supporting it. They probably have been working on this version for some time and now have to get their money out of it. I hope the do continue to support it.
Where can I find the conversion rate for the price - I don't do pounds very well.

GBP -> USD

Selecting USD on element5 results in USD 51.73 for the GBP 24.99 upgrade.

I got my notification today too, came here first to see what was going on. Is it me or are they adding fewer and fewer new features in every major release?

Their e-mail indicates that ExpressFix is not available in PI11, yet on my system it's right there at the top of the Photo menu (F10 shortcut).

Upgrade in the US is advertised at 49.99.
