Trial to Full problem
I tried the trial version of VS 10+, I liked it so I bought the boxed version, I uninstalled the trial as instructed on this forum , when I installed the full version I can't access all of the content ie sample pics, video and objects/frames, they are in the VS folder in my programs folder but not in the drop down menus in VS, also there is no sample music in the smartsound feature.
I did notice that when I installed the full version and opened it there was a thumbnail of the video I was testing in the trial version still there in the library.
So perhaps the uninstall procedure isn't quit fully removing the trial version, I did follow the procedure given on this forum exactly.
Any idea how to correct this?
Thanks
Joe.

Hi Joe
You need to do a ‘Clean Install’
This should remove all old folders.
The files that remained showing the old library are hidden on your pc, some where in here:- C:\Documents and Settings
You must do this:-
1. Launch Windows Explorer and go to
"Tools > Folder Options > View" to check "show hidden files and folders".
Follow this link to VS 10--Clean Installation 1/2

Hope this Helps

Hi Trever,
I tried your link, but it isn't available right now, I uninstalled VS using the instructions by sjj1805 here - http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=11923
I might have to reformat my pc to get rid of all traces of the trial version..

Hi Joe
Can you confirm that you have done this:-
Launch Windows Explorer and go to
"Tools > Folder Options > View" to check "show hidden files and folders".
and can you find these folders
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application Data\Ulead Systems

Update
I have finally got around to reinstalling VS after a full format of my HD, and I am glad to say everything is fine, no missing transitions ie the "album" and no missing sound files in smartsound.
I notic that some others have had the problem of missing album transitions, the cause could be the same as I had "immovable files left over from VS trial" you could try a reformat and reinstall, it worked for me
Joe.

Hi Ken,Ken Berry wrote:Nope. That's not it. I never loaded the trial version. And as it happens, I had to to a complete reformat 3 months ago. The reinstalled VS10+ still had no album transitions, just as it didn't before I reformatted the computer...
Have you tried running the content setup from the VS CD1 - located in
\Utilities\UVS10_Content , on the disc.
Joe.

Joe -- thanks for the suggestion. But believe me, I know this program, and I have tried everything -- even down to doing a line-by-line comparison of the relevant files' on my computer with the same files on the computer of a friend who has the full set of transitions. (They are identical!)
And the fact is that I have all the transitions *except* the complete Album category and an incomplete set of Flashback and Mask transitions. Everything else is there...
The problem is that I am not alone in this: there are a significant number of others in the same boat. I no longer worry (well not too much) about it as I have a similar effect to Album in the CanopusFX set which I can use very successfully with VS. But other users are not so lucky...
