Video studio 10 plus Trial

I have download the Trial version of Video Studio 10 Plus.
When I output an project to DVAVI and play this in Windows Mediaplayer, the pictures are good and smoothly.
But when I output an project to DVD then moving pictures are not smoothly.
It seems to be that by moving pictures frames are missing.
I will not buy this program if I'm not sure it's only in the trial version.
Who has expiriens with this problem?

To provide more accurate advise we need to know just a little bit more information.

1. How did you capture, and what were the capture settings?

2. What are your Project Properties?

I'm guessing you are not using any video clips, just creating a slideshow, correct? If so then what size are your images before you insert them?

You might be interested in Steve's tutorial, From Camcorder to DVD. With this tutorial it may clear up some issues you are having.

I have captured from my Sony DV camcorder to an DV file.
I have nothing changed in the standard settings. (Pal, 720x576, 25p/sec.)
Split to scenes and shorten some scenes. Than I output this to make a DVD.
(When I output the project to DV avi and make with Nero7 a DVD the result is good).

I have also tried to input scenes from my Video Studio 6, but the result is the same.
Seems to be there are pictures missing.
When I make a DVD with Video Studio 6 the result is very good.
(I make more than 2 years DVD projects and this are allways good)

So the only problem is that Video Studio 10 makes no good DVD's.
Probably the reason is the Trial version, but I am not sure and want to know if this is so
before I buy a new version of this program.

My PC is P4-2,88GHz, 512MB, 40 Gb free harddisk space, Aopen 2412Pro DVD recorder.

Hi

Video Studio makes good Dvd’s

You say that after creating an Avi it burns ok in Nero.
In the same way you could create a file to use in Video Studio, instead of going from the project.

After editing the project you should Share-Create Video File, PAL-DVD.

This will create a separate file of your project.
Use this Mpeg to burn a disc.
Making sure the project properties match the video file.

Thanks for your reaction. I have bought the upgrade V10 Plus and have make from my project an Pal DVD mpeg file. When I make from that mpeg file an DVD the quality is very good. Seems to be that the Pal settings are different from the normal mpeg settings (720x576, 25 frames/sec). The only 'problem' is that a menu with moving icons the pictures are not smoothly.

I was having problems with the VS 8, it could not convert the files for a DVD burn or an iso file. Uleads suggested:
Please download and install the latest CD/DVD burning engine from our website;
http://www.ulead.com/tech/general/burning_patch.htm

Then, please restart your computer and try the following suggestions before performing datawrite:

1)Try to use the blank disk of other brand to burn. In addition, please also make sure do not use the blank disc with burning speed that is higher than the one your burner can support.
2)Try lowering the burner's speed to burn.
3)If you currently connect some hardware device via USB port like compact flash card reader..., then please just temporarily unplug them.
4)Close all running applications like norton utilities and memory-resident applications (system monitor, anti-virus application, etc.) and internet connection as they may cause error as well before performing a data write.

I tried this fix and it did not fix the problem. In fact after that I downloaded the trial version on VS 10plus.
Now Video Studio crashes instead of giving an error about can not conver files.

Strange, the 10 plus does not seem to have the same problem. However here are some of the problems I have found in VS 10 Plus trial version from the Ulead web site.

Crashes:
During the Create Disk option, I have found that I need to save my work after several additions to the Add/Edit Chapters command because the program crashes and looses the indexes. I have 24 chapters total, one each for each act in this stage show video.

Unable to change thumbnails:
It appears I can only ¡§Change Thumbnail¡¨ picture for the first or main chapter, however I was able to ¡§Change Thumbnail¡¨ pictures on any of the menu chapters index pictures with VS version 8. Why is this?

Cannot find the help file:
When checking on the help command to help resolve these issues on the VS 10 Plus trial version, I get the message ¡§Cannot find the help file.¡¨ Is there a help or tutorial file that comes with VS 10 Plus ? I can¡¦t properly evaluate the trial version if it has no help, tutorial or limited functions or options.

(I eventually found the document for the help file on the Ulead site.)

VS 10 Plus trial version seems to have Less Gallery Menu Templates;

Smart Proxy:
What and where is a Smart Proxy?
When I check Smart Proxy under Tools, I get an error that states ¡§Smart Proxy has been disabled. To enable, select Smart Proxy in Preferences.¡¨ So I go to preferences and guess what, there is no option there called ¡§Smart Proxy¡¨

Icons do not show mouse over function;
When I put my mouse pointer over some of the icons on the main editing menu they have no mouse over pop up to tell me what they are for, and without a help file or a tutorial it make it difficult to use this version.

Does thier download trial version of VS 10 Plus have limited functions as I have seen here?
