Capturing video fro composite input (VCR)

Post by bharris »

I have two TV cards...1 Hauppauge 350 and 1 Hauppauge 150. I have a VCR hooked up to one of the composite inputs. I can see the video fine in the preview window. When I hit capture, again, I can see it fine. But when I stop capturing and try to look at the file, it is just a black screen. If I record 5 minutes of video, I get five minutes of a black screen.

Craziest thing that I have seen.....

Any ideas?

You should use the software that came with your Hauppauge card to capture. It is specially adapted to work with your card. Once captured you can edit with VS.

What are you capturing? If the tapes are commercial ones they may be copy protected.
Now using Adobe Premiere and Photoshop
