Error 17101:7:1 opening any AVI file

Post by Tnw »

Hi
i get an error 17101:7:1 if i try to open an AVI File.
No matter what AVI (DIVX,MJPG,RLE...with or without sound)
I removed any codec pack (+QT...) reinstalled codec´s and tools.
Removed Programm and reinstalled it.

Any other Program can load the AVI´s but Ulead Programms cant.
(same Problem with DVD Power Tools/trial)

Anyone a tip for me ?

You can try using a 3rd-party program to convert the file to AVI/DV or MPEG-2 before importing it into Movie Factory. If you are going to edit the file I recommend DV. Sometimes you can get away with MPEG editing, but some of us have had problems.

SUPER is a free program that can convert between many different formats. It can make MPEG-2 files, but I don't think in can make an AVI/DV file.

I assume that you are making a DVD. If you use a 3rd-party conversion program to make amn MPEG-2 file, select the MPEG-2 properties that are valid for DVD, so that Movie Factory won't have to re-code it. You can look at the Movie Factory Project Properties to see some appropriate bitrates, framerates, resolutions, etc.

Ulead seems to have trouble with some formats and some 3rd-party codecs. So, if you can't convert your files and Movie Factory can't handle them, you may need to look for a different program.
