Something a bit complicated there Paul - if you are connecting your VCR to your Winfast card where does connecting your camera to the VCR come into it ??
If you want to capture analogue from your camera why not connect your camera direct to your winfast card, if you are capturing from a VHS tape what is your camera doing.
Could you explain in a little more detail how exactly you are connecting everything up - you presumably have three leads from each device (red, white, yellow) - how are these all connected.

More info that you required from Paul
My camcorder connects to a scart connector (with the red white black and yellow inputs) this connector then this plugs into the back of the vcr.
I only use yellow white and black and connect accordingly.
The vcr connects to the computer via a normal tv aerial lead.
When I play the camcorder sound comes out through the computer with picture.
Problem is when recording there is no sound on playback on the dvd - ? is the sound file a seperate file .
Tried both *.avi and *.mpg type format files and still get the same result no sound on playback.
Have I missed something out on setup.
Duration 46 mins - source winfast tv card - format avi or mpeg - checked mute settings on computer (line in) and (on program) and beleive these to be set correctly.

Ugh - so your capturing from your VCR over the RF lead - not the way to good quality - could you not run to a analogue capture card at least.
I don't know which card you have but if it has a 3mm stereo output jack it is quite likely that you need a lead with a 3mm stereo mini jack on each end to plug from the TV card output into the 'line in' on your sound card. - failing that you may need to run an additional audio out from the VCR straight into your soundcard input.
