Ok...
So I've searched, with no luck on finding anything that makes sense to me, so here goes...
I'm converting several video's to a digital format, so I can combine them and put them on DVD's, with all the fun menu's and such that will eventually come with.
But the root of the problem I have right now is I can't get into capture mode...
I am running v10
I'm running a VCR, running output to the Hauppauge 350(NTSC) via coaxial cable.
Hauppauge is recognized by Windows, and I've found no patches for v10 available in the downloads section.
When I click on the Capture tab, I get the following error box that pops up...
"Unable to switch to Capture Mode.
Check if your video capture driver is working properly.
Failed to build a preview graph.
15001:33:1
15023:4:2
I'm sure I will be feeling less than intelligent after this...but honestly, I'm at a loss.
Thanks,
Unable to switch to capture mode

In general, you are better off using the capture software that came with your capture device. I have a Hauppauge card, and I use the WinTV 2000 capture software.
If your capture device came with an SE version of Video Studio it may have been tweaked to work with your capture card, or it may have just been "thrown-in" with the package so that you can edit and make DVDs.
There were some Hauppauge updates for VS9, and I would have assumed those updates were included with VS10, but I haven't tried capturing wiht either one.
And, since your Hauppauge card only makes MPEG files, I will also warn you that some of us have had trouble editing MPEGs with Ulead programs. Not everybody these problems, but if you get "lip-sync" problems or crashing, it usually has something to do with corrupted MPEGs
