Hi
First of all I prefer to create a video file prior to burning a dvd, then use the video file rather than using the project.
Saving your menu’s.
When you have finished with the burner module you close and return to the edit timelines.
Now save your project. File Save or Save As
Opening the project and Share Create Disc should return to the burner with the menus in tact.
For more info please read the recommended procedure at the top of this forum
Hope this Helps

Hey Trevor,
Excellent answer. However, I have a question. When you exit the burner module by clicking the "Close" button, a progress bar comes up saying it is "Saving the Project". When it is done, it takes you back to the edit timeline, just like you mentioned. Then you have to click File|Save. Why do you have to save twice? Are different things being saved between the burner module closing saving feature and the edit timeline File|Save feature?

Hi Bryan
That’s a good question, I think you have answered it yourself.
I am not sure how the auto save option works. I assume it to be inserting the burner settings to the project.
Maybe it should read ‘saving to project’
The project then needs to be saved to the hard drive.
That seems to make sense but not 100% sure

ok- i followed your instructions (and read the recommendations in teh sticky above) and it NEARLY works. the only problem i have is that when i return to the menus all the menu items are intact but the template has reverted back to the top of the first list (ie the default template and not the template i originally selected before the "save as" ) .....any ideas ??

Hi backhojo
Edited wrong VS
Just read the first post and realise you are using VS 9 The info below was from VS 10.
Just a moment.
Did you edit the project after making the menu’s.
Which template did you select
The Create Disc stage should be the last operation.
Once you have created the Menu structure it is not advisable further to edit the project.
The menu structure and chapter points are linked to the video files.
Additional editing will change the links and may disrupt the menu structure.
Even if the templates remain as selected, the menu may not react as expected on the burnt disc.
I have tried many options and cannot get the menu to fail, always keeping as selected.
Only when I edit do I start to have problems
Hope this Helps

now i am really confused - i did not do any editing. in fact the project is blank...i started a new project, went straight to share/create disc. then i added video files (previously created). i then set up menu and then went to close, save as....just liek the instructions say. when i open preject back up the menu template has changed (all the info is the same ie titles etc) but the template is different !!!

Ok
Well there’s something different, At least I am doing the same as you.
As well as VS installed I have the Video Studio 9 update and the CD/DVD Burning Pack
http://www.ulead.com/tech/vs/vs.htm
Worth a try if nothing else.

SORTED IT - I THINK
when you click the close button during the menu stage you have to make sure you have advanced from the menu selection screen to the dummy dvd player screen then click close. i was closing before this stage !!!
whats the DVD/burning pack ?? i cant see it on the link you sent me - what does it add by dowloading it ?
