Menu Sound Problem
Menu Sound Problem
I have been Using MF3 and using the option to add music to all menus. Everything seems ok in the preview window, but when I burn the DVD, the first menu contains the music, but the second menu has only about a second or two of the music which continually loops. (First time I burned, there was only a second on ALL of the menus, so I went back and changed the music file, thinking that may have been the problem--apparently not. I've used version 2 for a long time with no problems like this.)
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

What audio file?
what type of audio file is it? If it's .mp3, try converting it to 48khz .wav first.

Menu Sound
It was an mp3 file. I'll try your suggestion, but that will be a much larger file. I thought maybe the size of the file was the problem...just guessing, however.
I tried using a wav file and had the same problem. On checking the folders where the menu info was written (before closing the program erased them), I found that the music folder had the full wav file for the first menu, but the other two menus had only 182 kb wave files, with just the first few notes, that played over and over during the menu. This appears to be a ULead program error. Is there some way to notify them so they can look at the problem? (This has happened on every project I've tried so far.)

I am having the same problem
I am having the same problem with MF3, I went as far as reloading my OS from scrach and only loading the software and updates. If you have any luck with the help center Please let me know. I will check the forum and my e-mail address is jmccrea@capitol-college.edu. I have been working with this problem for over a month now, if I come up with anything I will be sure to post the results

This is obviously something that needs to be addressed in an update. I have tried everything. I'm also having problems with the program crashing about 2 out of 3 times while it is building the video files.
I have sent a request for tech support, but my last request went unanswered, so I don't know if I'll hear anything from them this time, either. It is looking as if I should have just stuck with version 2 and saved the money on the update.
I will let you know if I either come up with a solution or hear from ULead.

Kindly remove MovieFactory 3 in the Add/remove programs. After removing the program, go to this location and delete all folders:
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems"
Once deleted, restart the computer and reinstall the product.
After installing DVD MF 3, download and install the updates found here:
(Update Pack Build 300P01 only. Do not apply the DL patch for now.)

I received the same tech support email today. I will report back as soon as I have time to try the fix.
Funny thing is, I did successfully author one DVD where the music was correctly applied to all three menu pages, but it was the first DVD I made after doing a reinstall to try to fix the problem I had with the program crashing EVERY time during the video converting process. That problem turned out to be (I think) a problem with the mpg file, as the re-install didn't help. I reedited the offending file and tried again and was able to get the DVD burned. That first DVD had the full music file on each menu. But when I tried to author a second disk, the problem came back.
So I hope this "fix" isn't a one time fix caused by a re-install of the program. When reinstalling, I tried to make the DVD after each step; once after the program install, once after the install of the first update, and finally after the install of the second (2 part) update. Biggest difference was that the program was VERY slow converting the files with no updates and still pretty slow after the first update. (I did successfully get through the burning process with the program with no updates, even with the bad file, which is interesting, as it means something about the first update caused the crashing problem.) I hope they finally find a way to fix this with both updates installed.

I applied the fix which was suggested (uninstall, reinstall, update only using first update, install burn update) and the first DVD I tried was successful, with the music playing correctly on all the menus.
If I can make another, I will consider this at least a temporary fix. It would be nice if they found a way to fix it with the dll update applied, as well.
