Operation Aborted

Post by Halugen »

Okay, I created an .mpg file using Uleads Media Studeo Pro Video Editor version 8. I then bring that into Ulead's DVD Workshop 2. I can burn the file just fine if I don't create a menu. But the minute I create a menu, I get the "operation aborted" message when I try to burn the (unedited) .mpg file with the menu.

I don't think the file is corrupted since Ulead is rendering the file.

Please somebody help me - I bought the DVD Workshop to create cool menus but that's no good if I can't actually burn disks....

Welcome to our forum. We need a few things from you before we are able to offer any help so that we can ascertain if the problem is your computer, file corruption or your workflow.

Firstly Please click here for details of how to complete your system profile.

Next we need to establish all we can about the MPG file.
Where did it originate from, how did it get into your computer and then your workflow.

THIS IS A DISTRESS CALL!!

I have the exact same problem as Halugen. Everytime I try to burn a DVD, about 3-4 hours into the process (it takes way too long) the operation aborts. I doesn't leave me any error message at all. It just aborts. I was able to burn a DVD without menus.

PLEASE help me. I can't use the programs capabilities and I'd really like too. I have no idea what to do. My system information is below.

PLEASE HELP. Thank you very much

You have given your profile specs but you haven't given any details as to WHAT you were doing.

Please tell us what your input files were and how they were captured and saved with which codec, bitrates if appropriate etc. We also need to know your project settings in WS2 and exactly how you proceeded to use it.

Most cases of abortion are due to corrupt files.

As for the time a project takes, it depends on your settings, the type of input file, as well as your hardware.

Finally, I know this will be bad news for you, but motherboards with a VIA chipset are notoriously unreliable for all video work, with any software. In fact, some software manufacturers who specify acceptable motherboard types actually exclude Via chipsets from their specs. I'm not saying this is the cause of problems, in your case, because I know #####-all about your application, but I suggest you keep this in mind.
