VS9 - Truncated Menu Background Music

Post by philipbcook »

I am returning to a post I made over a year ago. None of the fixes offered then worked, including my own. I have simply not used the feature in the meantime since it was so buggy on my machine.

The problem ... Background music for a menu that lasts just a fraction of a second.

I have recently reloaded both Windows XP and VS9 afresh to my machine so I thought I would try menu music again.

If I create a main menu with a background picture and background music file (around 50sec long) then when I burn it to a disk I get only a fraction of a second of music before it repeats.

What I have discovered now is that if I start to burn a disk having set the Motion Menu option (default 30 sec) then abort the burning session and remove the Motion Menu option and burn again, I then get a 30 sec piece of my menu music.

Presumable if I reduced the Motion Menu setting to 10 secs then and did the same trick I would get only 10 secs of my music repeating. This behaviour seems to repeat reliably, so I suspect I have finally found the BUG !

The software seems to use the Motion Menu time setting for audio only background max time. If I dont commence a burn with Motion Menu set then it seems to treat the time limit as < 1sec perhaps 0.

Anyone else with a similar experience or even a fix that works ?

Philip
