Capture device - Pinnacle Dazzle DVC 130 and VS10

Post by tom8973 »

I have bought USB device (Pinnacle Dazzle DVC 130) for capturing video from old VHS tapes.
But I don't like Pinnacle software for video capturing and editing which was enclosed to the product.
I tried Ulead VideoStudio 10 (trial version) and I like it a lot. Unfortunately I couldn't manage to capture video with DVC 130 and Ulead VS10.
Does VS10 support this capturing device?

Hi Tom, welcome to the forums..:)

I'm not sure, but I would say no it does not. The device bundled Pinnacle with it for a reason. It is tailored to work with the device, and vice-versa. However that does not mean that you can not use VS10. Capture with your device, and then insert your captured video clips into VS10 for editing.

I will add that USB devices generally are not recommended for capturing video. Is the Dazzle DVC130 a USB 2.0 device, or an older USB 1.0? If it is the latter, I wouldn't even try to capture video with it..

Capture your files into Pinnacle and then import them into Video Studio 10.

Thanks for advice.
BTW Ron, Dazzle DVC130 is USB 2.0 device, and works fine.
I have captured for about 4 hours different home movies from old VHS tapes until now, and I am very happy with results.
