How to actually use "FXBench"???

Post by rpavich123 »

Hi,
I've download burgers transitions and FXBench. I know what the transitions do....for the life of me I can't figure out how to actually use FXBench....what do I do?
I open the program and just stare at it...

I've search this site, I've went and read what I could about it but I'm still mystified

Hi
I realise you can open the program on your pc but it also shows in the Video Filter section in the library.

Drag FXBench to a clip select customize, select a filter.

Theres a lot to choose from.

I do not know how to customise each filter.

Trevor,
Now we are getting somewhere...what exactly do you mean "drag FXbench to a clip"?

Do you mean "with VS open, drag the FXbench Icon to the timeline"?

Hi Bob

FXBench is a Video Filter, just the same as the video filters used within Video studio. (except it has mutiple choices)

This text was taken from the help files (F1) (video filter)

To apply a video filter to a clip (video or image) in the Video Track:
1. Select a clip in the Timeline.
2. Click the Filter tab in the Options Panel.
3. Choose a video filter from the Video Filter folder in the Library to apply to your clip (by clicking the thumbnail).
4. Drag and drop the video filter onto your clip in the Video Track.

Hope this helps

Trevor,
I guess what I'm asking is: FXBench is a separate application and doesn't show up in the filter menu....

Hi Bob

I see FXBench in the Video Filter library of video Studio.

The last filter.

Trevor,
Idon't see it...I uninstalled FXBench and reinstalled it and when it was done it said "no Ulead products found" and "no adobe products found"...

Could that be what's wrong?

to fully use fxbench, you click the "customize" button once you dragged the fxbench filter onto the clip. Once you click that, you will see all the options for the filter. Make sure the drop down arrows are not hiding the effect options. (in the menu bar at the top).

Quite possibly. Do you have VS installed in the default directory on C: or somewhere else?

According to this thread - http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... all++bench - FXBench is hard-coded to only look for VideoStudio in the C:\Program Files directory.

If your installation path of VS is totally different (maybe even on a different drive) you have to copy the Fxbench.vft file manually from your Fxbench installation folder to the vft_plug folder of your VS installation.

peace.

It will work, but only if you copy the fxbench.vft file from the installation folder of the fxbench-setup manually to the vft_plug folder of the installation folder of your VideoStudio or MediaStudio Pro setup.

As already mentioned: the installer of fxbench tries to locate your VideoStudio or MediaStudio Pro installation and (if found) copies for you the fxbench.vft file to those locations. In case of a different drive, this process currently fails und you have to do it manually.

Kind regards

Oh boy, not the latest hint of a memory that I moved this file.
And I must have done it for VS8, 9 and 10....
Someone has spare RAM for this wrecked brain?
