Hi All,
I really like the editing ability of VideoStudio 10, but there are a few authoring features in DVD MF5 that I would like to take advantage of.
What is the best way to edit using VS10, then author using MF5? Should I render at all using VS10 and, if so, which is the best format to use with MF5?
Thanks in advance!!!
Using both VideoStudio 10 and DVD MovieFactory 5

Imagine that you are gong to release your movie to theatres first, then make the DVD later.
I'd say you should do all of your editing with Video Studio. When you are done, you should have one complete "movie" file (more than one file if you are going to structure your DVD with more than one program). You can convert that to an MPEG-2 file with Videostudio now, or let Movie Factory do it later.
Then use Movie Factory to create the menus and burn the DVD.
I follow a similar procedure, except that I use DVD Workshop for authoring and burning.

Kovets,
I agree with DVDDoug, use VS10 for all editing and for Creating Video Files and then use DVD MF5 for DVD authoring (creating chapter points and menus) and burning. I am getting DVD MF5+ in the mail on Monday, and this is what I plan to do.

Titles and ending credits are edit functions that should be performed in VS10. Render the entire completed video file in VS10 by clicking Share|Create Video File, converting your project's vsp file to an MPEG2 file. Then import this file MPEG2 file into DVD MF5 (make sure your project settings and burn settings within DVD MF5 match your MPEG2 file properties), create your chapter points (if needed), customize your menus, then burn the DVD (using 4x burn speed).
