Forget it''' if u think u can easy import vob files like some folks posted here. VS8 greats u with an error.
..if you want import vhs tapes, VS 8 didn't find the source (the VHS Recorder/Player)
thats the two things i was looking for and nothing worked,so 9.50 installed 10.30 Programm removed,now a lot of waste in Registry and who knows where else.

Without a special card, your computer won't recognize VHS analog material.
To get around this, you use a digital videocamera with the "pass-through" feature. This lets you play the VHS tape in your VCR and pass the data through your empty videocamera to the computer via Firewire. The videocamera digitizes the datastream on the fly.
VS8 certainly WILL recognize your video if you do this.
