DVD drive problems after running VS10+

Post by martin.stahl »

Hi,

since I was not able to import any videos from DVD including the sound with VE8SE I decided to download and install the free trial version of VE10+.
My first attempts to load clips from my DVD-RW failed due to an "invalid parameter" error. A little time later I was not able to acces the video files on the DVD at all.
The problem got worse:
My DVD drive (actually it is a DVD burner, Philips DVDR1628P1) works absolutely normally when I want to read from a CD or a data-DVD. But it does not work at all any longer each time I insert a DVD with video files. I recorded these files with a DVD recorder, most times on a DVD-RW. When I inserte these DVDs in the drive they are simple not recognised and I am told to insert a DVD. This problem started after installation of VE10+. Before that I hat no problems at all.
It seems to be a software problem and that VE10+ has changed system files. It did not help to deinstall VE10+ again or the install the driver for the DVD drive again.
At the moment, the only solution seems to reinstall everything, including Windows XP, again on the computer which means a lot of work.
Has anybody experienced a similar problem and can help me?
How can I repair this problem, and is there a way to install VE10+ without having all these problems?
(I have listed all my computer data in my profile.)

Thanks,

Martin Stahl
