DVD Authoring for local businesses and schools

Post by cgman »

Hey folks, I am new to the whole ulead experience. In the past I was just creating video, 3d buttons, animations, editing it and burning the video or sending over the .tga/.tiff files to someone that authored the dvd's.

I am now looking in to providing services to the local businesses and schools in my area. My main concern right now is licensing audio and photos.

I understand that I will need to legitamately purchase rights from the production house for the copyrighted audio I will be using, which is fine. As for photos, do i have the right to scan photos (taken by a photographer), reproduce them by placing the photos in a slideshow or other project for a client.

Are there any resources available in print or web that I might have access to that will help me find whom I must contact for such licensing.

Thanks,

cgman

Photographs will most likely be owned by the person who took them. On occasion the rights to them may have been sold to a third party, or the photographer works for a company who own the rights.
