output to mpeg1 custom dimension
Is it possible to output to mpeg1 dimension 480x360 from input avi 720x480? I can't seem to be able to enter it as user defined. If i can't, i just wasted money on uvs10+ upgrade

What gave you the idea that you could use any exotic frame size with VS 10+? Why didn't you use the trial version to make sure first?
For your information, Legal DVD standard frame sizes for NTSC are: 352x240 (MPEG-1 or 2) or 352x480, 704x480 or 720x480 MPEG-2. Why do you need this particular size?
One more thing: The aspect ratio of your desired frame size is different to your source aspect also.

Competitor's software letting them do it gave me the idea that atleast with VS10+ it would let too. I owned vs 6, upgraded to 8 and now 10+. Getting a trial first didn't cross my mind cause I was pretty sure by 10+ ulead would add the feature.heinz-oz wrote:What gave you the idea that you could use any exotic frame size with VS 10+? I am not trying to make DVD.. did you read my post? I said mpeg1. I need it for the web. I am a web developer and most of the things I do is for the web. Right now mpeg 480x360 is getting to be the most popular since the bandwith is cheaper now people use files larger than 352x240 but smaller than 640x480. Btw, I haven't seen anyone use the ridiculous sizes 352x480, 480x480 on the web.. have you? not sure what good those dimension options would do for mpeg1 format.heinz-oz wrote:For your information, Legal DVD standard frame sizes for NTSC are: 352x240 (MPEG-1 or 2) or 352x480, 704x480 or 720x480 MPEG-2. So I guess the bottomline is UVS10+ can't do it.. won't let you cutomize the dimension for mpeg1 like its competitors? Dang! Now I just gotta buy a software from competition meaning I'll eventually have to buy the upgrades too from them meaning ulead just lost a loyal customer.
One last question. Heinz, did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?

Actually I have one more question.. can ulead media studio pro do this? if it can, where can i get instruction for it? Dimension option look pretty much the same in media studio and even thou i added the desired dimension under "customize dimension" option, my custom dimension size doesn't show under mpeg dimension dropdown menu. Any help there or should I post this in media studio forum?

No quite anything near it has an odd 480x480 and 480x576 that's about it. That's a frame size in other non-ulead softwares for mpeg1.trevor andrew wrote:After selecting the compression mpeg1, click the general tab.
I realise it does not have 480 x 360 but thheres something near.
