No audio when previewing capture

I have MSPro6. When I use the capture utility to capture dv video, I can not hear the audio when I preview. The audio is being captured, but it is a pain when I can not hear it to find the right place when previewing.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions that you might have.

This happens to me, too (with MSP7), the only way I found is to open the LCD display of the camera, since it is in "playback" mode, I hear the audio from the camera itself.

The audio preview during dv .avi capture was implemented with MSP7 -- I never had audio preview either in MSP6.0 or MSP 6.5.

As suggested, you can use the audio playback on the camcorder if needed...

I do DV video capture very regularly using the VideoCapture V7.0, which plays the audio just fine. As a matter of fact, I usually turn down the speakers while capturing so I can work on other stuff at the same time.

I capture from a Canon GL2 using the MS 1394 device control stream and the ULead DirectShow capture plug-in. The audio comes through both when capturing and during playback/preview mode.

Doing a little experimenting seems to show that the Capture Windows Media Format plug-in doesn't play the sound on my system, and perhaps other capture plug-ins don't as well. As I mentioned I use the ULead DirectShow capture plug-in (changed under Setup=>Change Capture Plug-in) and the sound works for me.
