MovieFactory 5 plus demo

I've downloaded the demo and installed it but just can't get it to work.

If I double click on the MovieFactory launcher and choose 'new project' or any other button, the 'Create a Video Disc' window appears as normal. Click OK here and the launcher just disappears and comes back in 20 seconds. Click again and it goes away for another 20 seconds. etc etc.

If I double click the actual program in Ulead directory in /program files, nothing happens at all.
Everything else works perfectly on my machine.
I've un-installed and installed a dozen times, I've run virus scans, registry sweeps and tried just about everything I can. I'd really like to buy and use this program but right now, it looks like I'm going to be buying something else.

Please help if possible!
