Sometimes, MSP8 crashes several times a day, and I'd like to know the reason.
This always occurs when clicking or dragging whith the mouse.
I can work with Veditor several hours without any error, or get 2 crashes in an half an hour.
Description of this error (Windows XP SP2 events):
" Source : application error - categorie : none - ID event : 1000"
"Application défaillante veditor.exe, version 8.0.0.0, module défaillant ulprev.dll, version 7.2.0.0, adresse de défaillance 0x0000d6c2.
Pour plus d'informations, consultez le centre Aide et support à l'adresse http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp."
(sorry this is written in french, but it is easy to understand)
This is the only application in my computer whitch poses a problem.
Any idea ?

Merci Devil,
A few weeks ago, I
- updated the graphic card driver
- defragmented the HDDs
- uninstalled/reinstalled MSP8 + upgrade
without any result.
Following what you did, I've had a quick look at Documents & Settings and viewed something maybe could be a problem :
Under MediaSudio Pro are 3 folders :
- 7.0 (Ok I've got it)
- 8.0 (Ok dated last reinstall)
- 8(2)0 with 2 files inside = proxyfile.dat and VIOFMT.dat, dated nov 2005 (first install of MSP8)
I wonder if it important, but these 2 files are present twice (in 8.0 and 8(0)2 folders). I think they must be suppressed.
For the moment, I have renamed (_old) the folder and the 2 files.
Lets wait and see.

As explained above, renaming the 8(2)0 folder and his files seems without any effect.
I ask myself if the AutoSave function works well.
I use it with a setting of 5', and, in addition, I do also manual savings.
In the backup folder concerned, apart from the manual savings, the .dvp and .veproj files are not always created every 5'.
It would be nice to know how the autosave function works and if it is possible to "mix" with manual savings without any risk.
Perhaps is that the cause of Veditor crashes ?
For the next days, i'll try to work without AutoSave.
Any opinion with AutoSave ?

Devil tu as raison !
Since a week, MSP8 runs without error.
I did again what you adviced : total uninstall of MSP8 (and V.Graphic Lab), removed all the MSP8 folders in D&Settings and Program Files (first time I didn't remove the folder in PF and still got crashes), removed all references to MSP8 in the registry, reinstall of MSP8+VGL+SP1+ external filters and finally controlled the registry and still removed 2 keys.
An other good result after that : antishake filter is now well present with the other filters in Production Library (when applying SP1 a few months ago, it was missing and only could be operated by right cliking over a video clip).
