Hi,
In the Video Editor of MediaStudio Pro, I would like to blur a person's head. The video clip contains a person talking in a fixed position for a few minutes.
If I use Video Filter->Focus->Blur, then the whole area of the video will be blurred. Is there anyway a blur filter can be applied to a specific area of the video, such as over a person's head.
Thanks
Video Filter Blur Only On Specific Area
You would best use a matte. P. 114 of the MSP8 manual gives an introduction, but read about overlays on the preceding pages first.

There are numerous ways to create the matte. It can be a simple b&w bitmap drawn in the graphics tool of your choice or it can be a video clip created from the source using keys.
Either way the easiest way to apply one is to use the video filters 'Region' dialog. This limits the filters application area directly and without the need for overlays.
This tutorial should get you started with using Region;
