Hi
Just wondering if someone could plssssss help me.... i have a Sony DCR-HC21E HandyCam and i would like to record a couple of VHS tapes onto it so then i can transfer them to dvd using VS8.
I have the A/V Connecting cables and the i.link cable.
I have tried every possible way but i just can't seem to capture the VHS tapes.
My Camcorder has an A/V Out Jack and DV Interface.
I have googled around for information but to no avail.
I do have a standard capture card and firewire card as i have recorded home videos and made up some nice dvd's out of them..... but getting this vcr > handycam > pc is an absolute nightmare!
Someone pls let me know what i'm doing wrong!
Your response would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Antz

Re: Can i record VHS tapes using Sony DCR-HC21E
I think you answered your own question. All camcorders I know off have an AV Out jack and an AV cable, most, except for DVD camcorders, have a DV port (iLink/IEEE1394/Firewire) also.antzpompeii wrote:Hi

What you need is an AV-In port. and a camcorder that supports the pass through function. This would be the preferred solution since you would not need to record on the camera but feed it straight through to the PC.
