audio lost on VS8 SE

first ,i'm sorry for my bad english :oops(i'm french)
i used Video studio 8 SE with Windows XP
no pb to import from camcorder.
to make a présentation of personals pictures i have imported clip from divx in my project
when i look at the clip (1st time) all is fine :video and audio
but when i look at the project :video's ok but no audio
then i read again clip : : NO audio???:cry:
i have tested to burn on CD (VCD): video ok but no audio

is someone can help me please

The problem is DivX and missing codecs. SE versions are notorious for being crippled but whether or not VS8 can handle DivX compression, I don't know.

As far as I am aware, VS8 simply could not handle mpeg-4. Point final (comme on dit en français). Since DivX is a variety of mpeg-4, I am not surprised that you are having problems...

but have you a solution to pick up a clip from a movie (dvd or divx)
i'have tried dvd but no video nor audio
can i convert audio mpeg4 before import it ?

is VS9 have the same pb?

I'm not sure about VS9 but 10 supposedly can handle it. Your SE version should qualify for an upgrade.
