no audio with firewire

tried to capture today with firewire it had audio for a few seconds then went away audio is on the tape tried using a sony VX2100 and a Canon ZR60 camera same result it has worked in the past any ideals on why it didn't today no changes to my computer that I'm aware of.

I would try a process of elimination. Have you tried using another program to capture with? You might try the freebie WinDV, http://windv.mourek.cz/. See if it captures ok with it. If not it maybe the cable has gone bad. If so then it may be something wrong with your Ulead install.

Check also under the Options icon in the Capture screen to make sure you are using Type 1 DV Encoder. If you recently reinstalled VS, it often sets Type 2 as the default for some silly reason. A lot of people have trouble trying to capture using Type 2.
