Reinstalled VS9

Post by steveandbelinda »

I reinstalled VS9 on my computer and now it seems that I have maybe one or two menu templates to choose from. When I go to the hard drive and check the folder for templates, it shows a bunch of them. I had originally bought the download upgrade version for VS9, but when my hard drive crashed I had to call ulead, and the let me download the full version online. Before, I still had versions VS7, and VS8 on my computer along with the VS9. Can't figure out why it doesn't seem to work right.

This may sound like a "duh!"-type question, but for the sake of excluding it as a possible factor, can we assume that when you have gone to Share > Create Disc, inserted your videos and moved to the Menu page, that you have ALL selected over on the right had side where the menu templates are shown? Or just one of the categories (Classic, Holiday etc)? Mind you, I can't think of any of the categories in VS9 that only have 2 templates on offer either!

RE: VS9 reinstall

Yes, when I go to the Editor choice when VS9 opens up, and insert a clip, then go to -Share-Create a Disc, I choose (All) templates, and these are what comes up, and the number of templates with each catagorie:
Classic-1, Holiday-1, Milestone-1, Motion-1, Speed-1, Travel-1, and I get the option of 10 Frames, under the customize button.
When I use the Movie Wizard option upon opening VS9, there is only one choice under the Theme Templates. (Christmas)

Hi

Do a ‘repair’ for VS 9
Try to install again and select repair from the install screen.

Also from the Utilities option install the Indeo driver.

From the read me file (Intel Indeo 5.2 - This is the codec for creating or playing .AVI files in QuickTime. You should install Intel Indeo 5.2 or above to be able to use the style templates in the Ulead VideoStudio Movie Wizard.)

Other than that you may need to do a clean install.

Hope This Helps

Did a reinstall. Did not see anywhere which asked if I wanted to repair. It told me upon putting in the cd, that I had to uninstall before I could intall again. So I did, and reinstalled, but this time I installed VS8 full version, then installed the VS9 upgrade version. I now have both versions on the computer. I do have more templates when I go the route of choosing the video editor. But if I choose the movie wizard, I still have only the Christmas template.
