Rip a Portion of a CD Audio Track

Post by blplhp »

I thought I read in a recent post where VS10+ will allow you to rip a portion of an audio track in the "Import from Audio CD" menu from the Audio Step. My menu does not seem to give me this option. I can rip individual tracks from a CD and I can playback any track before ripping, but I do not see a timeline with "mark in" or "mark out" buttons to rip a portion of a track. How do I rip a selected portion of an audio track from a CD in VS10+?

I've never tried to rip a portion of a track, however AFAIK, you have to rip the entire track. You can then cut out what you don't need. You might be confusing Rip a part of a CD, which would be a track.

Or you can download Audacity, an excellent (and amazingly still free) audio editing program, acquire the track from the CD, and doodle with it in Audacity till you have just what you want -- any part, any length.

I think you can rip the CD track into UVS and do the trimming in UVS.
