AVerMedia DVD EZMaker Pro USB2 capture device problem

Post by Megamix Mike »

I bought this capture device for its quality of capture and portability, and with it came MF2 and VS7. I found these to be of great use. Having registered the products, I got an email suggesting I upgrade to MF4 Disc Creator. The improvements seemed well worthwhile for the money, so I paid up and downloaded the upgrade.

After this, I could no longer capture video!! I contacted the helpline, who eventually told me that my capture device is not supported by MF4. They told me how to re-install my MF2, and said I would have to capture in MF2, then import the video into MF4.

Now they want me to upgrade to the latest version of VS, but this doesn't support my capture device either. It was suggested I contact AVerMedia for up to date drivers, which I've done, but this still doesn't mean it works with MF4.

Does anyone else have suggestions. It seems strange to me that MF2 supports this device, but upgraded versions don't.

I'd have to agree with Ulead's suggestion. Some capture hardware and capture software simply don't work well together. It's almost always best to stick with the software that's specially made for your hardware. Your "SE" version of MF2 was probably "tweaked" to work with the hardware.

I blame both Ulead and the hardware manufacturers! If the hardware manufacturers are going to bundle the free "SE"software, they should make sure that it works, and that the current full version works too! And, Ulead should not allow them to bundle their old software, especially if the newer full version doesn't work with the particular hardware!
