Flushing DV transcode buffer

Post by owestern »

I've tried to capture MPEG-1 directly from DV recorder. After 3 minutes of caputureing the VideoStudio start flushing the buffer and then continue to capture. I guess that is ok if you capture from an already taken DV cassette.

My problem is that I would like to capture directly from a DV camara live. And I can not be interrupted with the flushing buffer.

How can I set the buffer to be as great as I want? Do I need a faster computer to avoid the flushing buffer during caputure? Are there other hardware or software solutions for my problem?

What are your specs?

What are your computer specs? Is everything "optimized" for video capture, and have you made sure to disable all non-essential background tasks during capture?

My test computer is a 1,5Ghz Centrino not optimized for video production. There are no large background task on the system.
