hey guys
i have a problem. i have demuxed some vob files to the video file m2v and the audio file ac3 (PgcDemux). then i muxed them together again (Mplex Gui).
But when I import the mpg file (m2v and ac3) in Ulead Video Studio 7, I don't hear the sound. I just can see the video without the sound.
Can somebody help me?
Do I need the newest version of Ulead Video Studio?
Is there an AC3-Plugin?

Your title says it all, I am afraid. And yes, you would need to have VS9 or preferably the current 10+ to get AC-3 handled natively. There was a plug-in which I think would work with VS8 (but certainly not 7) but that cost US$30. Given the price of a full upgrade to VS10+, it would simply not make sense to buy that plug-in even if it were still available (and I am not sure that it is).
There is a free AC-3 filter at http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=AC3_Filter You can read the details of what it can do on that site. But essentially, it will allow you to import AC-3 into VS, but you can't then export it in the same format (i.e. it's a decoder not an encoder). You have to choose one of the other formats such as mpeg layer 2 or LPCM.

Thanks for the clarification re VS7 -- I don't think I had even thought about Dolby when I was using that version!!
As for VS9 and 10+, they already come withe AC-3 capability. (Indeed VS10+ has the native ability also to handle 5.1 Dolby, and not just the 2 channel stereo AC-3 of previous versions.)
