Audio Skipping. Please help!

Post by playswtihstars »

I'm making a VCD of a movie and I had to split it into two parts to fit onto the CD-RW. I didn't chose normalize audio on the first VCD and I can't check whether it worked yet because my brother has the DVD player capable of playing VCDs. My question is should I check normalize audio for the second part and will I have to re-do the first part since I didn't check that the first time? Thanks

EDIT: I checked the first disc on my computer using VLC Media Player with VCD selected and the audio skips really bad. Is there someway I can fix this. if this helps at all the speed at which it was done was set to maximum which i'm not sure what this means. For the second disk I changed it to 4x and checked normalize audio will this change anything with the audio for the better?

Please tell us something about your file format, and how you captured it. The Read This First... post at the top of the forum tells you what we need to know in order to help you.

A slower burn-speed might help. I doubt that normalization will do anything for you. Normalizing adjusts the volume... a specialized "automatic volume control".

I suspect the problem is a bad source-video file. A small amount of corruption can cause the codec to choke when it tries to transcode your file to VCD format.
