Does somebody knows if Moviefactory 5 plus now official supports Divx Xvid and Quicktime movies? Cause i know that Moviefactory 5 had problems converting Divx Xvid and Quicktime movies ..

DivX: supported if you install DivX codec pack from http://www.divx.com

QuickTime: supported if you install Apple QuickTime for Windows from http://www.apple.com/quicktime or from the DVDMF installation disk (if you purchased the box version).

XviD: might be able to be used if proper codec is been installed. However, if you want to use highly compressed video, MPEG-4 / Windows Media Video / DivX are suggested to be used with DVDMF 5 for some XviD codec pack versions are OK on playing but might be buggy on editing/converting and might cause many video softwares to crash.

For better XviD support, you might try the steps in http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 3705#73705 to see if it helps (change the Ulead VideoStudio folder to Ulead DVD MovieFactory and change the uvs.ini to DVDMF.ini). However, it's not suggested.

Hope this helps.

It takes a long time to convert DivX / XviD videos because they are highly compressed video formats. If you want to speed up the convert process, use some third party tools that are dedicated for converting to convert these video files to DVD complaint format then it would be way much faster.

For QuickTime H.264 movies, as I know there are some improvements in DVD MF 5 Plus. However I did not do any tests by myself because all my movies are either DV AVIs or MPEG-4 video files.

Hope this helps.

hey guys i yust had downloaded Moviefactory 5 plus trial,i had converted a Quicktime H.264 movie to dvd and still the screen freezes, and Divx Xvid still converting verrrry long ,dam?? they have updated moviefactory 5 to moviefactory 5 plus and not even bothered to fix these problems :? :? :? Why should i buy Moviefactory then?? to only convert simple mpeg-1 and mpeg-2 videos ?? then people can buy better nerovision or something that makes dvd from any video format , Ulead is very weird?? :?
