how to combine individual slideshows into one project...

Post by lpfannen »

OK -- so I have created half a dozen little 3 minutes slideshows, including cool music, and then burned them to DVD. Now I would like to showcase my little collection, into one disk, with the different individual slideshows as "chapters" on one DVD.

How can I combine the individual projects into one new project? I hope that I will note have to re-create the individual slideshows into new chapters of a new project.

Thanks for your help...

Lynn,

During a session you can create any number of slideshows and add them to your project by selecting the "New Photo Slideshow" command. Each slideshow will be represented by a thumbnail image in the left column of the "1 Organize" UI. Before buring a DVD you can also opt to have ALL of the shows play in sequence OR return to the title menu after each show. This option is set by going to FILE > PREFERENCES > OUTPUT SETTINGS > NAVIGATION CONTROLS and then selecting your preference from the dropdown menu. Once your project has been burned to DVD, each slideshow will appear on the title menu as an individual thumbnail (i.e.; chapter).

If you select SAVE AS (project) at the conclusion of a session, you can recall your multi-show project at a later time and add additional shows by re-opening project and then selecting the "New Photo Slideshow" option.

Unfortunately though, I'm not aware of any way to consolidate all of your previous individual shows into a new project.

new project from old projects...

Thanks Mike for your reply. Isn't there an option to output to MPEG or AVI? Maybe I could get some video files of my previous little shorts, and then bring them into a new project as videos.

OR---
What about using Video Studio to DVD Author a collection of my previous Slideshows.

OR---
What about using something like Roxio to collect the shorts?

Guess it all hinges on the ability to create a video file at burn time.

Hmmm...

Yeah, if you convert your existing shows to DVD compliant MPEG2 (or other compatible format) you can start a new PS4 project and consolidate all of your clips on a single DVD. Alternatively, most any timeline based editing app could handle a basic project like that as well. Really, the possibilities are almost endless depending on what other video apps you have available.
