Export to MPEG-4 High Definition

Post by tuprware »

I have a Sanyo Xacti MPEG-4 HD camera. I can instantly bring in footage and edit it with project settings of mpeg2 or avi. I want to export (share) my edited video back to the camera which is a SD media card in the same codec format. VS10+ can output in mpeg-4 ASP, but my options are limited to 720x480 and a bit rate that maxes out at 2000. The properties of this file format when read in VS10+ are:

24 bit, 1280x720
mpeg4 asp
9000 bit rate
29.97 frame rate

AAC mpeg audio
48,000 Hz 16bit stereo
128kbs, stereo

Anyone know how to unlock more features for export?
thanks

I found this announcement about Ulead support for the Xacti:
InterVideo(R), Inc. (NASDAQ:IVII) and its partner Ulead(R) Systems, Inc. (TSE:2487), industry leaders in video, image and next-generation DVD software, today announced a plug-in for the Xacti VPC-HD1 tapeless camcorder that will allow users to author and burn their High-Definition content to HD DVD or standard definition DVDs. The plug-in works with DVD MovieFactory 5, the newest consumer DVD authoring and burning software.

SANYO's ultracompact Xacti VPC-HD1 camcorder (sold as Xacti DMX-HD1 in Japan), records High Definition MPEG-4 video at 720p to an SD memory card and can also shoot 5-megapixel stills. It has a 10X zoom, a generous 2.2-inch OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display and, at just 80 x 119 x 36mm, is the world's smallest HD camcorder.

Pricing and Availability
The SANYO Xacti VPC-HD1 Plug-in for DVD MovieFactory 5 will be available in Japan as a free download from the Ulead Japan Website as of April 28, 2006. For more information, please visit www.ulead.co.jp.
You could download the Plug-in and see if it will work with Video Studio 10+ or download Movie Factory and work with that.

Just out of interest, I went to the Ulead Japan site, and not surprisingly, it is all in ... Japanese! A little more surprisingly, though, there is no obvious button to give an English version of the site. So I am afraid that anyone looking for the Xacti plug-in would have to speak Japanese to find it. The plug-in, of course, is not on the general Ulead site for some unknown reason... Anyone having a more direct link to the download page of the Japanese site would be most welcome...!!

I ran the page through FireFox's FoxLingo extension and the link to the plugin isn't live. It's there, just not active.

Does Version 11 allow you to export to a MPEG4 HD 720p file now?

The sticky for VS11 had great screen shots, but stopped showing the capabilities when it came to the export to MPEG4.

I have a sanyo HD1, and VS10, I bought VS10 because it said you could edit natively, but it doesn't really work for me. I want to export back to the camera my edited content and play it back with the camera. Here are the export settings I would love to have:

It shouldn¡¦t be too hard to do this, it¡¦s just unavailable in VS10

The Sanyo Xacti imports this:
24 bit, 1280x720
mpeg4 asp
9000 bit rate
29.97 frame rate

AAC mpeg audio
48,000 Hz 16bit stereo
128kbs, stereo

All I am asking is to export the same.

thanks,

tup
