I have recently purchased PhotoImpact in the Videostudio10+ bundle. Having been a long time Paintshop Pro user, I naturally experience a significant degree of inertia when looking at other products. However, PI11 has come across as extremely powerful and probably worth the effort to transition across.
I've been having a little play with PI11 and running through the tutorial videos. When I looked at the facility for mailing directly from the application, it brought up a screen listing various mail clients (of which Outlook was not included, only Outlook Express). I closed this and now the mail icon skips over the setup step and goes straight to asking me whether I want to send as Web Page or Image file. I had a look in Help and this is the expected behaviour - "skip to step 3" - but I can't find anything telling me how I can re-register the e-mail client. As it stands, PI11 gives me an error.
Searching on the various forums (fora?) for "mail" didn't help.
I know that I could simply save the image and then attach, but if the functionality exists, it would be nice to get it working.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
David.

I use Outlook Express and do not have Outlook installed any longer.
However, whatever program used, you will have to open that program (Outlook) and set the Options to Make the program (Outlook) the default e-mail program and MAPI client.
In Outlook Express you do that by opening OE, and select Tools menu item named Options, select the tab named General, and at the bottom of the page set the defaults for the correct program. If there are several programs you may have to point to the correct one or change the default.
Once the defautl is set, PI should recognize the default automatically.

Setting up email client in Photoimpact11
I have checked and Outlook does think it is my default Calendar and Mail app.
I don't recall seeing "Outlook" on the list of applications - but since I can't get PhotoImpact 11 to show me the e-mail registration section again I'm not sure.
Looks like I'll have to do attachments manually - not a big deal. I have been playing around with PI11 and this is a small gripe compared with how happy I overall with the product.
(If anyone does know how to reset that pesky mail registration thing, then please let me know. I'll log something with ULEAD tech support. If I hear anything back I'll post it here.)

Make Outlook Express as default mail client:
# Select Tools->Options->General->Options in Outlook Express.
# Check Make Outlook Express my default e-mail client.
# Check Make Outlook Express my Simple MAPI client.
# Close Outlook Express.
Make Outlook as default mail client:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=223877
or
http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/247931.htm
After you set your default mail client, PI should be able to send images via e-mail.
The dialog you see is not a e-mail registration box but a tip box to let you know how to set the default e-mail client in your system.
Hope this helps.

One more possibility you might try.
On the Control Panel, select Internet Options.
On the Internet Properties dialog Box, select the tab named Programs.
Under the attribute named Internet Programs, if not already, change to Outlook.
Reboot the Computer, so the Registry can make the necessary changes.
Open PI and try the Send menu item to see if all is working.

Setting up e-mail client -- success!
I tried both of the suggestions offered by htchien and keenart and it seemed that all of the settings were as they should be.
So, I thought I'd do some screen captures to show exactly what error messages I was getting. When it come to clicking on the little envelope icon, up fired Outlook with the attachment in place.
A bit of a mystery as I don't think I changed anything, but whatever it was you guy did - thanks!

I can only find the following information in Ulead Knowledge base:
http://www.explorecommerce.com/members/ ... 31&ID=7439
PhotoImpact shares the e-mail component with Photo Express so I guess this should be the same as PhotoImpact.
I know it's not informative but that's what I found in the UKB.
I just did the send mail test with my PI 11 and it works properly.
