A persistent menu problem

A friend and I are both making and exchanging DVD movies. He has Movie factory 5 and I have 5 plus. We both have the same problem.

The menus on our dvds seem to be inactive when the dvd first loads into any dvd player.

You can't make a selection either with or without the remote. You can only press play and the first item on the menu will play.

When you come back to the menu by any method other than ejecting and reloading, the menu works fine from then on until you eject the dvd and reload it again.

This problem has occurred on every dvd my friend and I have made and exchanged, whether we use static or motion menus.

The problem persists on any copies made by any method. It persists on every device we have tried to play our movies on.

We need help.

Have you tried other DVD players, since you said every DVD is the same?
