Hi. I need to configure this settings on a video project:
(I own Videostudio 7.0)

- CD, DVD, Beta SP o VHS (I guess CD format is VCD?)
- Windows Media 9 format
- Frame size: 400x300
- 30 frames per second
- Sound: WMA 9 music, 48kbps, 44kHz, monoaural music.
(which one is the simplest to use with the other settings?)

please some help, thank you a lot.

Hi
Video Studio is a video editor, its basic function to create dvd’s. Although it can produce many formats.

The VSP has to have certain properties that are either Mpeg or Avi.

The project properties can depend on how you are capturing the video.

Once you have edited the project you Share Create a Video File, the properties of which depend on your audience.
That is are you making a DVD or intending to view over the internet using say Wmv files.
Or may be just to view on your pc’s as a video file.

Have a read at the Recommended Procedure at the top of this forum. This describes the process to create a dvd from capture to burn.

Have a read at My Quick Guide for Avi and Mpeg from the link below.
These show the properties I would use for making a dvd.

Basically, where are you getting the source video from and what do you intend to make with it. :?: :?:

Where you are in the world also influences the properties you use Pal or Ntsc. So where are you :?:

Hope this Helps

I´m getting my video source from a couple of images (JPG) with sound (FX+music)..when they are together, the combination results as a little funny movie.

right now I´m in SouthAmerica, here we use NTSC

My task is to create a VCD video disc and send it to the contest.
That´s all...as I am a new VS user, I was trying to gather some advice to fit all techincal minimal requirements to the contest.
thank you a lot. :D

Hi Masterworld

You cannot set the project properties as Vcd, as this is not a dvd compliant format.

I would use Avi as my project properties:-

NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 4:3, 29.97 fps
Lower Field First
DV Video Encoder -- type 2
PCM, 44.100 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

Edit the project.
Share Create Video File to same as 'Project Properties’
This will create a top quality video file to avi format.
(13Gb per hour)(its big)

Using this new file in a new project Render to Vcd
Share--Create Video File--Ntsc-vcd

MPEG files
24 Bits, 352 x 240, 29.97 fps
Frame-based
(Video CD-NTSC), 4:3
Video data rate: 1150 kbps
Audio data rate: 224 kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 44.1 KHz, Stereo

This will create a VCD file of your movie.
Starting a new project you can use this file to burn a CD.

Alternatively you could skip the create Avi step and create a VCD from the project.
Although I think you will get better quality by creating an avi first (my personal preference)

Is this what you are looking for.

View the video on this site for movie examples created from Jpeg images only.
