why don't my burned DVD's play correctly

I'm having trouble playing DVD's that I've created in VS8. The AVI files play fine on my computer (Dell 8400 brand new) and DVD's used to play ok. Now the video works fine but the sounds is really "stuttery".

Does anyone know how I can stop the sound from stuttering

- is this a problem with a codec or a patch? I recently updated VS8 with the VideoStudio 8 Update Pack (Build Number: 8.01, Release Date: 2004/09/06) - I also put on the latest DVD burning engine. I am not sure if the problems occurred before or after I applied these patches - has anyone else experienced similar problems - AND HOW DID THEY RESOLVE THEM!!!?

I have an 8400 too. If I had those problems, I'd set a Restore Point and uninstall VS8 and reinstall without the patch. Then I'd try it.
