adding fonts

Post by tombanfield »

Adding Fonts, Hi I am trying to add some new fonts to photoimpact 11 they are Open Type fonts. I just cant find where to put them in.
They added quite happily to microsoft word.
If it is not possible to add fonts does anyone know if I can type in word and then somehow cut and paste it in.
Thanx

If a True Type font installed to the System Font Folder, PI will use it. Shutdown PI. Find and Highlight the Fon file or Font and On the Command Menu Select File and then Install New Font...

You may have to reboot your computer for the font to show in PI.

Ulead uses the TT fonts from the OS Font Folder, if not a TT font, I do not know of any other method to get the type face to show in PI.

You cannot cut and paste from another application, as PI treats the font as an object. The quality of the type face degrades as a bitmap but can be resized as an object and used to a limited degree.

Did you check to see if the original creator of the type face has a TT equivalent. Perhpas there is a program on the Web that can convert the Type face to TT.

If it is really important, contact Tech and see if they have an answer or workaround.

Thanx for that.
I will follow up the possibilities as I am sure it will not be the last time I will need this font.
I did find a work around which has come out fine which was to do the Graphic and photo work in PI and then paste them in to the Word doc with the text in the required font. This will not however solve all my future needs but I will follow up your suggestions
