Video Filter option missing in VS10

Post by geraghtyg »

I have been using VS10 without any problems since I bought it when it was first introduced. However, I am at the final stages of editing a wedding and have just noticed the "video filter" option has disappeared!!! It was there before as I edited another wedding a few weeks ago. Does anyone know ehere it could have gone??? I'm very confused. It's still there on previous version of VS which I have installed.

Hi Graham

Strange that its just disappeared.
Have you installed any other programs?

Have you uninstalled the earlier version of video studio.?

Have you tried doing a ‘Repair’ to VS 10.

Run the install again and select repair from the options.

Just had the same exact problem today. A very strange coincidence.

Tried using the "Repair" feature, it did not work.

Aside from removing and doing a full reinstall, can anyone shed any light on why this is happening on multiple systems?

Hi,

the same thing happened to me today and I did the following

closed Video Studio
deleted uvs.ini in documents and settings\my name\applicatian data\ulead systems\10.0

(you could also rename uvs.ini)

reopened Video Studio and voilà Video Filter show up again.

Thank You hmoennich - That also worked for me. Not sure what caused it to fault in the first place but your solution worked, nonetheless. Thanks again

Thanks for the tip hmoennich, I wish I'd known about this two weeks ago though when this exact thing happened to me, I finished up having to uninstall and reinstall to fix it.

Still i will know next time :)

It's a real pity there isn't a similar fix for the non appearance of the Album Transitions and other utilities we thought we were getting, that some of us are missing.
We can only hope and rely on miracles, Ulead finally realising that customers are important and not to be totally ignored.
Still clutching at straws.

Hi Nebbia
Welcome to the forum.

Are you saying that Video Studio no longer works?
(do a repair by trying to re-install VS and select ‘repair’ from the install screen)
Or
Are you saying that the Filters are still lost?

There seems to be two problems.

1 / Users that never had the filters
2 / Users that have lost the filters.(The fix replaces the lost filters.)

Hi

Have you installed any other software?
Have you un-installed the earlier version of Video Studio?

I can only suggest you do a ‘repair’ for Video Studio 10

With VS closed

Try to install Video Studio again
Select ‘repair’ from the ‘install screen’

Hi Neddia

Glad to hear you have a working program.

You may be best to start a new post regarding the PC spec’.
I think you will get more info from the other users having more knowledge of the pc setup than me.

The only thing I would do is up the Ram to 2 Gb.
Two hard drives, one for the OS and one dedicated for your video files.

Filters:-

For starters, extra filters and transitions from the Burger Transition Site.

Hope this Helps
