Hello
I just downloaded the Ulead Video Studio 10 Trial Version , as I found in the Net that is one of softwares which can handles Vob files directly
I have a Sony DVD92E DVD Camcorder with which I have recorded already some Mini DVD's
I have now imported to Video Studio 10 Trial and addedsome textsand also cutted the original VOB files coming directly from the DVD's
After rendering I have now the problem that in fast scenes (when zooming and moving camera fast) I have some stuttering or jerking ..... (on PC aswell in a DVD player connected to a TV)
In the original DVD and also with copies of this it is not the case
I already searched the board and found some threats like http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... ht=stutter and http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... ht=stutter but I don't know whether this is the solution to my problem as mostly the field order is mentioned coming from the DV file stream...
But as I have imported finished VOB files I do not really know what to do....
My system is the following :
- Intel Pentium 2,6 GHZ
- 512 MB RAM (will upgrade to 1 GB in a week)
- Windows XP SP2
- 120 GB hard disk (30 GB free space available)
- Nvidia GeForce 4 TI4200 with 128 MB Ram
I hope that somebody can give me a hint ?
regards
Erik

I am almost certain it is a field order question. As I understand it, those Sony cameras record using Upper Field First. (Right click on one of the files in Video Studio and check the Properties.) So when you transfer the VOBs to your computer, edit them and output a new video from them, you must always use Upper Field First. The default is often set as Lower Field First, but if you use that on UFF material, you will get the sort of problem you are experiencing.

No patch yet for VS10 + that I can find. Most of the time the stuttering and jerkiness irregardless of version is due to improper field order, so this would not be a fault of the program.SchneiE wrote:edit : will now try this again....
But in the German Ulead Fanboard forum I read that there are a lot of problems with stuttering with VS10+ and Ulead already announced a patch ?
It seems with VS9 it should be okay, so I will also download the trial of VS9 now.....

Hi again..
yes it seemed to be the field order, I did now the following path and now the video is no more stuttering and jerking...
- Import VOBS and do editing and cutting
- Create a user defined MPEG2 file with 25 frames / second and upper field order first
- Opened a new project (or restarted Video Studio..) went to CREATE DISC and selected the MPEG2 file
- Created my menus and burned it on DVD
AND that's it now, I have a brilliant video without stuttering and jerking..
Thank you very much , this forum was great help so far......
